Support measures by the Government of Montenegro to mitigate the effects of the covid-19 pandemic

As part of urgent business support measures, the Government of Montenegro has approved the creation of a new credit line through the Investment-Development Fund of Montenegro, which is intended exclusively for providing liquidity due to the rehabilitation of the consequences of the covid-19 pandemic.

The credit line is intended for entrepreneurs, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises that are directly endangered and suffer the consequences of the situation. Through this line of credit, financial support will also be provided to large enterprises to preserve projects and investments of importance for further economic development.

Credit terms include:

  • Maximum loan amount – up to 3 mil. EUR
  • Grace period – up to 2 years;
  • Interest rate –1.5% (for EIB funds) and 2% (for funds from other sources);
  • Loans are paid without credit fees;
  • The documentation should be submitted electronically or through the Post Office.

Special attention is paid to companies involved in the production or supply of medicines, medical equipment, ambulances, food, tourism and catering, transport and services. Medicines, medical equipment and ambulances will be prioritized, followed immediately by food production, tourism, hospitality and more.
